Alpena Community College is committed to enhancing the safety and security of our campus communities. To this end, the College has adopted a series of Board of Trustees policies, designated as Series 7000, designed to specifically address issues of safety and security and to comply with federal and state laws, including the following:
- The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (The Clery Act)
- The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013, also known as Campus SaVE Act (Sexual Violence Elimination Act)
- The Drug-Free Schools and Campus Regulations of U.S. Department of Education
More information about these laws is available on the Safety Resources & Links page.
ACC has a Safety Policies and Procedures Compliance Committee, appointed by the College President. The Committee meets regularly to review policies, recommend updates and amendments, to develop procedures and programming in support of implementation of the policies. For questions, suggestions or information, contact any committee member.
