INVITATION TO BID

Notice is given hereby that

Alpena Community College, 665 Johnson St., Alpena, MI 49707

will accept bids from contractors for selective mechanical demolition and remodeling for:

Besser Technical Center (BTC) Heating Plant Renovations            

according to Drawings and Specifications prepared by:

Integrated Designs Inc.
1021 West Baraga Avenue
Marquette, MI 49855

Work is described as Including, but not limited to: 

Base Bid is to replace heating boilers, boiler circulators, and all associated piping as indicated on the plans.  Include all associated electrical work, boiler venting, and controls.  An Additive Bid Alternate is requested to replace four base-mounted heating water distribution pumps, additional piping, and four primary heating water isolation valves.

No formal pre-bid walk-through is planned for this work.  Contractors are encouraged to visit the site at their own convenience by contacting Kurt Konieczny 989-358-7202 to make an appointment and gain access to the boiler room.

Sealed bids will be received at the office of Lyn Kowalewsky, Controller – VLH-110 at the Alpena College College address above until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 28, 2023. At that time, bids will be privately opened. Bids received after the date and time specified will be returned to the bidder, unopened.

 

Bids will be taken on a lump sum basis as defined on the Bid Form. Bids shall be accompanied by bid security equal to 5% of the bid amount.

100% Surety Bonds for performance and payment of labor and materials are required.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularity in the bidding or the bidding process and accept the bid that is most advantageous to the Owner.
