About the Biofuels & Energy Conservation Initiative

Customized training in the topics above was developed and delivered to support plant startup of the Alpena Biorefinery, the only cellulosic ethanol plant operating in Michigan.  Currently employing 33 new hires related to training, the plant is working with the College to develop a credit-bearing tract to support projected plant expansion and the need for new hires trained in biofuels plant operations. The track is currently based upon the Electrical Maintenance Technician program, which may be viewed here.
