Right-to-Know
The Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act of 1990, as amended by the Higher Education Technical Amendments of 1991, requires that every college prepare, publish, and distribute information concerning the incidence of certain types of crimes occurring on campus during the prior calendar year.
Additionally, specific college policies relevant to campus security must be published. This required information must be distributed to all students and employees and to any applicant for enrollment or employment, upon request, beginning September 1, 1992, and each year thereafter.
Finally, the Act requires the institution to track a cohort of first-time, full-time students for completion or graduation purposes. The completion figures reported in this report are for 286 new students who began their attendance at ACC in the Fall semester of 1994, 286 new students beginning their attendance in the Fall semester of 1995, and 274 students who began their attendance in the Fall semester of 1996. Individual program completion rates are available in my office. The completion rate shown is based on a student completing their program in 150% of the normal time frame for their program, thus a 4-semester program must be completed in six (6) semesters.
The following is being provided to meet the information requirements of the Act. A copy of the Dear Colleague letter of August 1991 from the Department of Education outlining the reporting is available upon request.
